Some new Pictures

Lloyd and I and our family went snowshoeing and cross country skiing over the weekend. I thought you'd like to see some great pictures of me as well as some wonderful winter scenes. These were taken by my favorite photographer, Becca Davis. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Keep posted for more new EAP information! Take care of yourselves! Gus

Improving Relationships - just a thought....

You know I listen to many conversations in the office as well as in the hallways of the hospital. Well, I am hearing many people talk about improving their relationships with their spouse, significant others, and/or their children. I thought this might be a good way to "make things better" in homes and maybe even at work. Let me know what you think!

Relationship Improvement Contract
Transform your relationship by practicing one of the following for six weeks:
1. To create joy in my relationship, I, _______________________ commit to:
2. Catching ___________ (you fill in the name) doing what you like and letting them know you appreciate it!
3. Creating non-negotiable couple time (connecting time, talking, activities, etc.).
4. Letting go of the things that bother me for just one day a week.
5. Keeping my promises, especially the little ones (getting off the phone when I say I will).
6. Refusing to use “red flag words” (never, always, etc.).
7. Doing what I want my partner to do (walk your talk)
8. Laughing every day with _________ (you fill in the name).

Hope you all have a great day - talk soon

Gus.

Welcome

Hello and welcome to my new blog site.  This is the first time I've ever used a computer so please bear with me while I learn the basics.

I hope you all will feel free to ask me questions about life, problems, what's happening in the hospital, the Employee Assistance Program, etc.  I'll be sure and respond back on this blog as best as I can.  If I don't know the answer (which is very unlikely) I'll be happy to check it out and get back to you as soon as possible.

You can also e-mail me at Lloyd's email address (Ldavis@gjhosp.org) and one of us will get right back to you.

Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year's.  Let's make 2009 the best yet!

Take care of yourself!  Gus
